I want to post something positive but...
There's a stigma associated with being disabled. People assume that disabled people are weak, to be walked over, taken advantage of. All of those able bodied people who use disabled parking bays with legitimate parking cards are fraudsters. Nothing is ever said about the amount of money that is lost to abuse of this valuable resource.
Disabled people have no right to these spaces, but they're provided by society to help people that can't manage as much as normal people. So why do able bodied people stand by while these spaces are effectively being abused by other able bodied people? Indifference.
People are indifferent to the difficulties others have, whether that be a disability, and illness, or anything else. People are animals. I don't mean that in any way other than fact, but we are constantly being told that we are higher functioning mammals, but there's more consideration shown to individuals in monkey troops.
Disabled people are nearly always oppressed. Unemployment among disabled people is far higher than that of the general population, and any employer will employ an able bodied person faster than a disabled person, even if that person is qualified or able for the job. And it doesn't end there.
Every aspect of the lives of disabled people is dictated by their difficulty. From parking, public access to transport, buildings and leisure facilities, work and services. No one helps, no one cares (I'm not complaining, simply saying it). This is an opinion that I'll express over and over again. I'm positive that it won't change anything, but it has to be said.
